4. Podešavanje

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare your gem faceting machine for operation.

4.1. Install the Manipulator

1. Insert the nut into the track on the machine base.
2. Secure the manipulator base onto the machine using the nut and screw.
3. Install the height adjuster onto the manipulator base.
4. Install the U-bracket onto the height adjuster.
5. Attach the handle (dop stick holder) to the U-bracket.

4.2. Install the Lap

1. Place the master lap onto the spindle.
2. Place the grinding lap on top of the master lap.
3. Secure both laps with the gasket and the nut, ensuring they are centered and tight.

1. Connect the water pump to the water hose.

5.2. Adjusting the Protractor

5.4. Adjusting the Micro Height Adjuster

The micro height adjuster allows for fine-tuning the grinding depth. It has 30 small increments (A) and 15 large increments (B).

• Moving 1 small increment (A) adjusts the height by 0.05mm.
• Moving 1 large increment (B) adjusts the height by 0.1mm.
• When the triangle indicator rotates back to the starting point, the total height adjustment is 1.5mm.

5.5. Using the Splash Guard and LED Light

1. Select the appropriate dop stick for your gemstone and attach the gemstone to it using dop wax or adhesive.
2. Insert the dop stick into the manipulator's handle.
3. Adjust the protractor, index wheel, and micro height adjuster to your desired facet angles and depth.
4. Turn on the machine and adjust the speed. Ensure water is flowing onto the lap.
5. Gently bring the gemstone into contact with the rotating grinding lap, applying light, consistent pressure.
6. Periodically check your progress and adjust settings as needed.
7. Repeat for all desired facets, changing laps as necessary for different grinding and polishing stages.
