Uvod

This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your First Alert SMI100-AC Hardwire Interconnect Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup. This device is designed to provide early warning of smoke and fire hazards in residential environments. It features Precision Detection advanced sensing technology and the ability to interconnect with compatible alarms for whole-home coverage.

Proper placement and installation are crucial for effective smoke detection.

Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, including basements and in every bedroom. For optimal protection, place alarms in hallways outside sleeping areas and in living rooms. Avoid placing alarms in kitchens, bathrooms, or garages where steam, cooking fumes, or exhaust can cause nuisance alarms.

1. Isključite napajanje: Before installation, ensure the power to the circuit where the alarm will be installed is turned off at the main fuse box or circuit breaker.
2. Montažni nosač: Secure the mounting bracket to the electrical box using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is firmly attached.
3. Povežite ožičenje: Connect the Quick Connect Plug wiring harness to your household wiring. Typically, this involves connecting black to black (hot), white to white (neutral), and orange to orange (interconnect, if applicable). Use wire nuts to secure connections.

Operacija

Testiranje alarma

Test your smoke alarm weekly to ensure it is operating correctly. Press and hold the Test/Silence button on the alarm cover until the alarm sounds. The alarm will emit a loud, pulsating sound. If the alarm does not sound, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

Funkcija tišine

If a nuisance alarm occurs (e.g., from cooking smoke), you can temporarily silence the alarm by pressing the Test/Silence button. The alarm will remain silent for approximately 10 minutes before resetting. If the smoke is still present after the silence period, the alarm will sound again.

Interconnect Feature

When one interconnected alarm detects smoke, all compatible interconnected alarms in your home will sound. This provides an early warning system throughout your residence.

• Zelena LED: Indicates AC power is present. It will flash periodically during normal operation.
• Crveni LED: Flashes rapidly during an alarm condition. It will also flash during the test sequence.

Održavanje

Čišćenje vašeg dimnog alarma

Clean your smoke alarm regularly to prevent dust and debris from interfering with its operation. Use a soft brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to gently remove dust from the alarm's vents. Do not use cleaning solvents or spray directly onto the alarm.

Zamjena baterije

The 9V battery provides backup power during outages. Replace the battery annually, or immediately if the alarm emits a low battery chirp. To replace the battery:

1. Turn off AC power to the alarm at the circuit breaker.
2. Twist the alarm counter-clockwise to remove it from the mounting bracket.
