Uvod

The Hawke XB30 Crossbow Scope is engineered for precision and durability, designed to enhance your crossbow shooting experience. Featuring 14-layer fully multi-coated optics and a wide-angle optical system, it delivers exceptional clarity and performance even in low-light conditions. The robust 30mm monotube chassis is built to withstand the significant recoil of crossbows, ensuring long-lasting reliability. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your XB30 scope.

Hawke is a world leader in crossbow optics, renowned for innovative reticle designs that improve shooting accuracy. All Hawke XB Compact crossbow scopes are innovative, accurate, and reliable. The Vari-speed technology allows you to precisely match the reticle to any bow speed for unsurpassed accuracy by simply adjusting the speed selector ring. The scope is waterproof and shockproof, with nitrogen-purged optics to prevent fogging and misting, making it suitable for demanding outdoor conditions. Its chassis is machined from a single piece of lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum for maximum strength and stability.

Postavljanje i instalacija

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. Always ensure your crossbow is unloaded and safe before beginning installation.

1. Raspakivanje i pregled

Carefully remove the scope and accessories from the packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage. The package should include the Hawke XB30 Crossbow Scope and lens covers.

2. Montiranje teleskopa

The XB30 scope is designed for Picatinny mounts. Ensure your crossbow has a compatible rail. Secure the scope rings to the rail according to the ring manufacturer's instructions, ensuring they are properly aligned and tightened to the recommended torque specifications. Place the scope into the bottom halves of the rings, ensuring the reticle is level. Attach the top halves of the rings and tighten the screws evenly, alternating between screws to apply even pressure. Do not overtighten.

3. Adjusting Eye Relief

With the scope mounted, shoulder your crossbow in your natural shooting position. Adjust the scope's position forward or backward in the rings until you achieve a full, clear field of view without any black crescent shapes (vignetting) around the edges. This is your optimal eye relief. Once set, tighten the ring screws securely.

4. Boresighting

Boresighting is an initial alignment process to get your scope close to the point of impact before fine-tuning at the range. This can be done using a boresight tool or by visually aligning the bore with the reticle. Consult your crossbow's manual for specific boresighting procedures.

Operating the Scope

1. Podešavanje uvećanja

The XB30 features a variable magnification range of 1.5-6x. Rotate the magnification ring, located near the ocular lens, to adjust the desired magnification level. Higher magnification provides a closer view of the target but reduces the field of view.

2. Speed Adjuster (Vari-Speed Technology)

The unique Vari-speed technology allows you to calibrate the reticle to your crossbow's specific speed (250 fps to 475 fps). Locate the speed selector ring, typically near the objective end of the scope. Rotate this ring to match the advertised or measured speed of your crossbow. This ensures the aim points on the reticle correspond accurately to the specified distances.

3. Using the XB30 Compact SR Reticle

The glass-etched reticle features multiple aim points for various distances, from 20 to 100 yards, with 5-yard increments. The 10-yard aim points include windage bars and dots to assist with compensation for 10 mph and 20 mph crosswinds. Familiarize yourself with the reticle pattern and practice at various distances to understand its holdovers.

4. Reticle Illumination

The XB30 features an illuminated reticle for improved visibility in low-light conditions. The illumination control is typically a rheostat dial on the side of the scope. Rotate the dial to turn on the illumination and adjust its brightness. Turn off the illumination when not in use to conserve battery life.

5. Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The scope has capped windage and elevation turrets. Remove the caps to access the adjustment dials. Each click of the turret moves the point of impact by a specified amount (e.g., 1/2 MOA or 1/4 MOA). Turn the elevation turret (top) to adjust vertical aim and the windage turret (side) to adjust horizontal aim. Always make adjustments based on your shot group's deviation from the target.

Održavanje i njega

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your Hawke XB30 scope.

1. Čišćenje sočiva

Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens brush to remove dust and loose debris. For smudges or fingerprints, use a specialized lens cleaning solution and a clean microfiber cloth. Apply the solution to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Čišćenje tijela

Wipe the scope body with a damp cloth to remove dirt or grime. Dry thoroughly. Avoid submerging the scope in water, even though it is waterproof, to prevent potential damage to external components.

3. Skladištenje

Store the scope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided lens covers to protect the objective and ocular lenses when not in use.
