3.2 Physical Installation (Rack-Mounting)

The AP7723 is designed for installation in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, occupying 1U of rack space.

1. Secure the rack-mounting brackets to the sides of the ATS unit using the provided screws.
2. Mount the ATS into the desired 1U space in your equipment rack using the appropriate rack screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.

3.3 Connecting Power Sources

The AP7723 features two independent AC power inputs (Source A and Source B) and multiple output connectors.

1. Connect the primary power source cable to the "Source A" input on the rear panel of the ATS.
2. Connect the secondary power source cable to the "Source B" input on the rear panel of the ATS.

The AP7723 supports Ethernet 10/100 and RS-232 for remote management and monitoring.

• RS-232: Connect a serial cable from the ATS's RS-232 port to a computer or console server for local management.

4. Operacija

• Input A/B LEDs: Indicate which input source is active and available.

4.2 Automatic Transfer Logic

The AP7723 continuously monitors both input power sources. Under normal conditions, it will draw power from the preferred source (default or user-selected). If the preferred source fails or deviates from acceptable voltage/frequency parameters, the ATS will automatically transfer the load to the alternate source within milliseconds, ensuring uninterrupted power to connected devices.

4.3 Setting Power Source Preference

You can set a preferred input source using the front panel buttons or through the network management interface.

• Press the "Preference A" button to set Source A as the preferred input.
• Press the "Preference B" button to set Source B as the preferred input.
• The ATS will attempt to draw power from the preferred source whenever both sources are available and within acceptable limits.

The APC AP7723 ATS is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks are recommended.
