Checking Horizontal Level

1. Place the bottom edge of the level firmly on the surface you wish to check.
2. Observe the bubble in the central horizontal vial.
3. For a perfectly level surface, the bubble should be centered precisely between the two indicator lines.

Checking Vertical Plumb

1. Place one of the side edges of the level against the vertical surface.
2. Observe the bubble in one of the vertical vials (located at each end of the level).
3. For a perfectly plumb surface, the bubble should be centered precisely between the two indicator lines.
